Budget 2010, Striking the Right Balance
Budget 2010 strikes the right balance between fiscal discipline and protecting health care and other priority programs.
Budget 2010 enhances Alberta’s competitiveness by keeping taxes low and investing in infrastructure for the future, and it positions us to be back in the black by 2012-13.
Budget 2010 positions Alberta for the future, supporting government’s vision of having:
- the strongest financial position of all provinces going into economic recovery;
- the most innovative and competitive economy in Canada;
- the best health care system in the country; and
- the most advanced infrastructure in North America.
In Budget 2010, we will monitor our spending and our revenues to ensure we meet our targets and continue to provide the priority services to Albertans, with a goal of balancing the budget by 2012-13.
